Budapest and Turkey meet on the Danube – The GoTürkiye workshop 2026 concluded successfully
GoTürkiye’s professional workshop was once again a sell-out
For the third year in a row, the HotelPremio PR team has been handling PR matters for the Turkish tourism board, GoTürkiye, in Hungary. As part of this contract, the Turkish B2B workshop and presentation – a tradition launched last year – and sponsored by GoTürkiye and Turkish Airlines was held again this year.
Focus on Turkish Tourism Results and New Developments
Interest from Turkish service providers remained enormous; all 24 exhibitor spots were filled within two weeks of the announcement. Representatives from Turkish hotels and DMCs/travel agencies/service providers arrived in equal numbers from Turkey for the Tuesday afternoon event in Budapest.
Turkey’s Development and What Lies Behind It
Özkan Duman, Chargé d’Affaires at the Turkish Embassy in Budapest, was the first to address the audience. He shared data on the increase in the number of Hungarian travelers to Turkey in recent years, as well as economic figures related to Turkish tourism. He was followed by Zeynep Ücok Celikag, Marketing Director of TGA, who gave a presentation interspersed with captivating and spectacular promotional videos.
The presentation can be viewed by clicking on the link.
The speeches were followed by 2.5 hours of business meetings, divided into 10-minute sessions, during which Hungarian guests gained detailed insight into the current activities and services of their Turkish partners. This was followed by an exciting raffle with generous prizes, where the lucky winners had the opportunity to experience firsthand in Turkey everything they had heard about here in Budapest.
Networking on the Waves of the Danube
This year’s event took place on the River Diva event boat, which, after the workshop concluded, set sail during a dinner featuring a selection of Turkish dishes and made a complete north-south loop around Budapest along the Danube’s section through the capital, offering a variety of sights to both Turkish and Hungarian participants. This allowed them to continue their professional discussions in a much more relaxed atmosphere on the ship’s upper deck, while they admired the city’s panorama together at sunset – for example, with a cool drink in hand.
