Slovakia Showcases Its Tourism Treasures in Hungary and Romania

2024, Dec 12 | PR and communication

For the first time, the Slovak Tourist Board embarked on a two-day workshop tour in Hungary and Romania to promote Slovakia as a must-visit destination. Organized by the HotelPremio Group’s expert PR team, the events offered a perfect mix of insightful presentations, unique experiences, and meaningful networking opportunities for travel industry professionals.

Budapest: A Sophisticated Start at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel

The tour’s first stop was Budapest, where the stylish Marriott Courtyard Hotel hosted an event that drew nearly 50 travel organizers and media representatives. Attendees were treated to a deep dive into Slovakia’s natural wonders, cultural heritage, and the country’s latest tourism campaign.

Sona Jelinková, head of the Slovak Tourist Board, opened the event with a warm welcome, setting the stage for a series of engaging presentations by her team.

A stellar lineup of Slovakia’s top tourism players took center stage, including:

  • Grand Hotel Bellevue
  • CPI Hotels Slovakia
  • Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras
  • The High Tatras Region
  • Water Castle Hronsek – Garamszeg
  • Tatry Mountain Resorts
  • Sheraton Hotel Bratislava

Destination management organizations such as Visit Košice, Csallóköz, and Nagyszombat showcased their offerings, alongside standout exhibitors like Hotel Club Késmárk, Villa Sandy City Park Resort from Košice, and Demänová Resort from the Jasná region.

The three-hour networking session provided ample time for meaningful discussions and connections. The event concluded with a fascinating presentation by Lucia Blasková on the High and Low Tatras, followed by a delicious group lunch at the hotel’s restaurant.

Cluj-Napoca: Spotlight on Slovakia for Romanian Travelers

The second leg of the tour took place in Cluj-Napoca, where the rooftop terrace of the chic Vibre Hotel offered a breathtaking setting for the workshop.

This event welcomed a fresh slate of exhibitors, expanding the showcase of Slovakia’s tourism offerings:

  • ParkSnow Donovaly
  • TDM Stredné Slovensko (Central Slovakia – Banská Bystrica)
  • TDM Bratislava Region
  • TDM Levočská Dolina (Levoča Valley)
  • Hotel Roca from Košice
  • Aplend
  • TDM Dobrý Kraj

The workshop attracted over 20 Romanian travel professionals and journalists eager to explore new ways to promote Slovakia to their audience.

Sona Jelinková highlighted the growing interest in Slovakia among Romanian tourists, noting a 20% increase in visitor numbers over recent years—a surge partly driven by the new highway connecting Debrecen to Eastern Slovakia.

Opening New Doors Through Tourism

Both workshops were hailed as a resounding success, offering participants valuable insights into Slovakia’s tourism potential while fostering meaningful connections within the industry. Guests commended the flawless organization and the wealth of information that made Slovakia’s appeal impossible to overlook.

Thanks to the HotelPremio Group’s innovative approach, the events demonstrated how creative tourism marketing can bridge borders and create exciting opportunities for both Hungarian and Romanian markets.
