On October 14, 2025, the PR division of HotelPremio Group organized an exclusive business breakfast at Crowne Plaza Budapest, where flydubai and Aitken Spence Travels jointly presented Sri Lanka as a new and inspiring MICE and incentive destination for the Hungarian market. The event was attended by leading travel agencies and corporate travel agents, who were able to learn first-hand about the opportunities offered by the country and the benefits of the cooperation between the two international partners.
The program was opened by Andrea Szép, flydubai’s regional sales manager, who presented the airline’s dynamic development and the convenient daily connections on the Budapest-Dubai-Colombo route. In her presentation, she emphasized that flydubai is a reliable and flexible partner in both business and incentive travel, and that their network is constantly expanding towards the South Asian region.
This was followed by an inspiring presentation by Nalin Jayasundera, Managing Director of Aitken Spence Travels, on how Sri Lanka has become one of South Asia’s most attractive business and incentive destinations. With over 45 years of experience as a Sri Lankan DMC, Aitken Spence Travels offers its international partners tailor-made programs, exclusive venues, and professional event management. Jayasundera emphasized that the country’s diversity—from oceanfront resorts to mountain tea plantations to historic cities—provides the ideal setting for all types of MICE events.
What makes Sri Lanka special is that it harmoniously combines culture, nature, luxury, and adventure within a small area, offering an extremely diverse range of activities within short travel distances. The country’s infrastructure is constantly developing, its hotels offer world-class service, and all this makes the island a safe, accessible and authentic destination for the Hungarian incentive market as well.
The special atmosphere of the breakfast was concluded by Ági Szilágyi, blogger at Ági Travels, who shared her own experiences in Sri Lanka with the participants. Her stories and personal impressions painted a vivid picture of the country’s hospitality, natural charm, and why it is worth rediscovering this exotic yet easily accessible destination.
The event, organized by HotelPremio PR, aimed to strengthen the partnership between flydubai and Aitken Spence Travels and showcase new business opportunities for the Hungarian travel industry. The breakfast clearly demonstrated that Sri Lanka is not only special from a tourism perspective, but also has outstanding potential as a new premium destination for MICE and incentive travel.
