Why are Brno and the South Moravia region one of the strongest choices for wine-tasting team-building events?
For the next stop of the HotelPremio PR team’s #newplacesnewfaces series – and also the last event of the year – we invited our MICE event-organizer and travel organizer partners to explore together the team-building and event opportunities in Brno and the South Moravia region.
The program was hosted by the Brno Convention Bureau, where Eliška Křížová (Key Manager) and Lenka Zajačková Cerhová (MICE Junior Manager) presenter the city’s and the region MICE offering.
The meeting took place at the newly opened Mammaison Chain Bridge Hotel, where Düra Anek, Regional Sales & Marketing Director at CPI Hotels, welcomed and hosted the participants.
During the hotel presentation, we not only got to know the Mammaison Chain Bridge Hotel, but also gained insight into the soon-to-open Mammaison Vibe Downtown Hotel. In addition, a short presentation introduced CPI Hotels’ new Brno property opening in March, which already promises an exciting concept and an excellent location. More than 30 people attended the event, clearly showing that even in the December rush, interest in the Czech Republic – and especially this region – remains strong.
Why does this destination work so well for team-building and incentive programs?
From a MICE event organizer’s perspective, a key question is where to take the team or the organization — somewhere that:
- offers opportunities to unwind,
- provides a high-quality range of activities,
- and adds cultural value for participants.
Brno and the South Moravia region are particularly strong in this respect: they’re easy to reach, the program options are diverse, and thanks to the wine experiences, the “wow factor” is easy to build in
What can you do in Brno and the South Moravia region?
In short: almost anything. The range is broad, from small executive meetings to larger-scale professional events. And if you’re not thinking in terms of classic hotel or congress venues, more unique locations are also available — even in historical settings.
Wine, wine, and more wine: a truly memorable team experience
The South Moravia region has long been known for its excellent wines, so with wine tastings, cellar tours, or wine dinners, it’s very easy to create a premium yet relaxed team experience.
Some outstanding venues in the region:
- Hraniční Zámeček – an elegant venue for a dinner combined with a wine tasting
- Art Wine Hall Kurdějov
- Hotel Ryzlink
- Spielberg Winery
- Lahofer Winery
- Sonberk Winery
- Vrbice Cellars
These venues don’t just offer gastronomic experiences — they also provide a “take-home” memory for participants, which is always invaluable for team-building.
Extra experience: cave tours and special programs
If you’re looking for something truly unconventional, the caves of the Moravian Karst can be an exciting add-on program, with guided tours and unique experiences. This kind of activity works extremely well alongside a classic wine tasting/wine dinner, because it offers a completely different type of shared experience.
The urban side of Brno: atmosphere, gastronomy, evening programs
Brno is one of the Czech Republic’s most vibrant cities, with many bars, cafés, and great restaurants. From a MICE perspective, this matters because alongside the professional program, it’s easy to organize:
- informal networking,
- city exploration,
- an evening, relaxed team activity.
Soon we’ll also share a separate feature on Water Tanks Brno — with firsthand experiences and an event organizer’s perspective.
Costs: how does it compare to Hungary?
Based on local offers and partner rates, Brno and the South Moravia region can generally be considered a more cost-effective destination compared to Budapest. In our experience, indicative differences are:
- venue rental: approx. 15–30% more favorable
- catering: approx. 10–25% more favorable
- accommodation: approx. 10–20% more favorable
(Of course, exact ratios depend on the date, capacity, category, and package offer.)
Brno and the South Moravia region are a strong choice for team-building, incentive trips, and MICE events because they’re easy to reach, offer a diverse program selection, and the wine experiences guarantee something special — often at a more favorable cost level than domestic alternatives.
